Policy Position"I am totally committed to eliminating the negative effects of illegal aliens on the Citizens of Colorado. In recent years the influx of illegal aliens from many countries, primarily from Mexico is negatively affecting nearly all areas of our society including jobs and wages, healthcare, crime (drugs, violence, etc.), K-12 education, the transportation (road congestion) environment, and is changing the culture in which we live as well. While the U.S. has always welcomed immigrants from other countries, we have a legal process for entry. We are a nation built on the rule of law. Immigration laws are in place for many reasons, the primary one being the protection of our citizens. Without borders, we will cease to be a nation.""As a State Senator, I am committed to making this one of my top issues of concern. You will find much information on this issue as it primarily relates to Colorado at my website."
"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life."--John F. Kennedy

"The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence."
U.S. Constitution Article IV Section 4 George Washington"The policy or advantage of [immigration] taking place in a body (I mean the settling of them in a body) may be much questioned; for, by so doing, they retain the Language, habits and principles (good or bad) which they bring with them. Whereas by an intermixture with our people, they, or their descendants, get assimilated to our customs, measures and laws: in a word, soon become one people."George Washington (letter to John Adams, 15 November 1794) Reference: The Writings of George Washington from the Original Manuscript Sources, 1745-1799, Fitzpatrick, Ed., vol. 34 (American Memory Co) (Opinion Times) Theodore Roosevelt"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."Theodore Roosevelt 1907 Initiatives to Stem the Flow of Illegal Aliens into Colorado are UnderwayNaturalization Oath of Allegiance"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."Links to key organizations concerned with Illegal ImmigrationCenter for Immigration StudiesColorado Alliance for Immigration Reform Colorado Alliance for a Secure America Diversity Alliance for a Sustainable America Federation for American Immigration Reform National Center for Naturalization and Citizenship Senator Bill Morrow Team America The American Cause < Back to PLATFORM |
