C-SPAN is airing a discussion on how the U.S. Supreme Court has dealt with the issue of abortion in the past. This topic is expected to be among the most prominent in the questioning during Judge Samuel Alito's confirmation hearings set to begin next week. Panelists include two law professors knowledgable on the subject, Helen Alvare from Catholic University Law School and Nina Pillard from Georgetown University Law Center. The program will features extended audio clips from the oral argument in four of those cases, including Roe v. Wade, Webster v. Reproductive Health Services, Planned Parenthood v. Casey and Stenberg v. Carhart.
