Senator Schultheis' Prime Sponsored Bills

Home / LEGISLATIVE / 2009 Legislative Session
  • SB 09-023 Fair & Legal Employment Coloradans Act

Prevents Employers from hiring illegal immigrants through the E-Verify program. We need those jobs for Colorado citizens! This bill was killed in State Affairs committee on 2/8 by Democrats on a party-line vote.

  • SB09-82 Repeal TABOR Refund Mechanisms

Repeals TABOR refund mechanisms. Over the years, the legislature has diverted large portions of TABOR refunds to 16 special-interest groups--refunds that would have normally been distributed to taxpayers. The bill would have removed those categories and restored the original intent of TABOR: to return all surplus to the taxpayers. Democrats killed this bill in State Affairs Committee on 01/28 on a party-line vote. Special-interest groups are more important to the Dems than the average taxpayer.

  • SB09-83 Limit Public Resources in the Political Process

Would clamp down on the use of public funds to support/oppose political candidates or issue campaigns. Democrats killed this bill in State Affairs Committee on 01/28 on a party-line vote.

  • SB09-145 Automatic Suspension Condemn Proceedings

Would require that condemnation proceedings begin only after a landowner has been notified for 18 months. This bill was killed in State Affairs Committee on 2/10.

  • SB09-146 Unlicensed Driver Vehicle Impound

Would give law enforcement the authority to impound the car of an unlicensed driver.
This bill was killed on 2/11 by Democrats on a pary-line vote.
