"Children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom." -- John Adams (Defense of the Constitution, 1787)VotingHome / ISSUES / Illegal Immigration
Under current Colorado law, anyone registering to vote must only self-affirm their U.S. citizenship. HCR06-1009, which I introduced in the 2006 Regular Session, and HB06S-1013, which Rep. Knoedler introduced in the 2006 Special Session, would have required anyone registering to vote to show proof of U.S. citizenship. Both bills were killed in a House Committee on a party-line vote. Read the El Paso County Clerk & Recorder's opinion on the loopholes in our voting registration process.
